In recent weeks, Florida’s Yungeen made a return to the music world with his hard-hitting single “Duffle Bag,” which features Priority Beats and Wings production. The song tackles the street-oriented topic for which he’s become well known. After the release of “Caterpillars to Butterflies,” he followed it up with an introspective track that explores themes such as growth and purity.
The singer circles back around for the second time with a new music video titled “Slipping Away.” In this Gwpoh-edited clip, Yungeen Ace opens up over a piano-led beat, asking “who are you and where have you been?”.
Life of Betrayal 2x, the follow-up to Life of Betrayal from 2018, was released in July by Yungeen Ace. 16 songs are featured on the Cinematic Music Group project, including contributions from G Herbo, YFN Lucci, Spinabenz, Whoppa Wit Da Choppa, FastMoney Goon, and the late King Von.
This past month, Yungeen Ace and I connected for an interview during which he discussed his latest album and collaborations, his relationship with his mother and girlfriend, and the challenges associated with being a Black man in America. Jacksonville’s frontrunner has also spoken about how he feels about that.
