BackRoad Gee reported back in October that he had released his latest project Reporting Live, which comes with eighteen tracks and additional features from collaborators including Stylo G, Jme, Stefflon Don, Lethal Bizzle, Pa Salieu, NSG, and more. BackRoad Gee added to that yesterday with DB’s standout single, “Nyege Lewa,” was appropriately titled with the aid of fellow Ivory Coast native BackRoad Gee in a past interview with Apple Music, which means “beautiful” and “lust” In collaboration with British artist Ms Banks, “Nyege Lewa” is about his relationship with his love interest.
In his accompanying video, “Nyege Lewa,” Jay Parpworth begins with BackRoad Gee performing the track against the background of an exotic dancer. After some synchronized dancing, Ms Banks appears to bring the infectious energy of the track to the fore.
In the same period that Reporting Live From the Back of the Roads was released, Backroad Gee earned a prominent placement on the soundtrack of the Netflix movie The Harder They Fall, joining American superstars such as Conway the Machine, JAY-Z, and Jadakiss are featured on “King Kong Riddim.” The stars are definitely aligning for the East London band at this point.
