Earlier today (Jan. 14), Cordae released his sophomore LP From A Bird’s Eye View, which features fourteen tracks featuring H.E.R. Lil Durk, Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, Eminem, and more. A new video for the DMV rapper’s track “Today” dropped shortly after the album’s release. Hardcore fans may recall tennis star Naomi Osaka teasing the track on social media. The track features Gunna and sees production from Kid Culture. Ultimately, the artists allow audiences to know there’s too much at stake for them to laze around:
With its accompanying video directed by Geerten Harmens and Edgar Esteves, “Today” reflects back on Cordae’s and his family’s struggles, including scenes of Cordae’s mother struggling to pay bills and Cordae creating music in his bedroom studio. Later, Gunna’s rhymes can be heard on a rooftop helicopter pad with his counterpart.
From A Bird’s Eye View serves as a follow up to Cordae’s critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated debut album The Lost Boy, comprised of 15 songs featuring Chance the Rapper, Pusha T, Ty Dolla $ign, Meek Mill, Arin Ray, and Anderson .Paak, who made a guest appearance on the Gold-certified “RNP.”
