In August, Earl Sweatshirt blessed his fans with an outstanding new single titled “2010,” which is set to appear on his upcoming album Sick! In addition to that, the Odd Future alum delivered “Tabula Rasa” this past weekend, a Rob Chambers and Theravada-produced track that included help from NYC duo Armand Hammer. Rap trio Billy Woods, Sweatshirt, and ELUCID deliver a beautifully crafted album. On the album, they address topics such as African leaders, obstacles facing people, a children’s game, and more.
A matching visual for Tabula Rasa was also created by Joseph Mault, who captures the artists in their studio residence creating music and cooking ribs on a grill while delivering bars. Near the end of the clip, the camera moves into a room where Earl Sweatshirt performs surrounded by Boldy James and Alchemist.
Sweatshirt’s upcoming album follows his critically acclaimed third studio album Some Rap Songs, which included additional guest appearances from Standing on the Corner, Navy Blue, and Earl’s parents Cheryl Harris, a civil rights professor, and Keorapetse Kgositsile, a South African poet and political activist who passed away in 2017. In the interim, Sweatshirt released the EP Feet of Clay, followed by a subsequent deluxe edition featuring collaborations with Maxo, Mach-Hommy, Mavi, and more.
