Doja Cat released her third studio album Planet Her in June. The album featured 14 original tracks and additional collaborations with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, JID, Young Thug, and SZA. Soon thereafter, she would release a deluxe edition featuring five extra tracks and collaborations with Gunna and Eve . There is no surprise that Planet Her became Doja Cat’s most successful album to date as an album equivalent unit of 109,000 was sold during the first week of its release, propelling her to the second spot on the Billboard 200. She has yet to receive a plaque in the United States, but she has already received several Gold and Platinum certifications for the song in other countries, cementing her status as an international superstar.
Yesterday (Dec. 4), Doja Cat deployed a new video for Planet Her’s Aynzli Jones, Crate Classics, Linden Jay, and Yeti Beats open with “Woman,” an ode to women and their importance to society and the world at large through an Afrobeats-influenced track:
“Woman” is accompanied by an accompanying video clip. It begins with an orderly saying that the throne of a queen played by Teyana Taylor has been threatened. Taylor and Doja engage in a titillating exchange in the video, during which the “Say So” talent displays some absolutely breathtaking poses and joins a group of women dancing in choreographed steps.
