Knucks continues to raise levels with his music every year, and it’s immediately clear that 2022 will be no different. A London singer/songwriter appeared on COLORS’ popular performance series here today (Jan. 10), where he blessed the audience with two new songs: “Alpha House” and “Bando.”
The first thing that stands out about “Alpha House” is that it seems to borrow a bit from Erykah Badu’s turn of the 20th century classic track “Green Eyes,” produced in collaboration with Vikter Duplaix and James Poyser and featured heavily on the artist’s sophomore LP Mama’s Gun. Almost two years have passed since Knucks released his latest project, London Class, a critically acclaimed production featuring 12 tracks and contributions from Sam Wise, KXYZ, Loyle Carner, Venna, and Kadiata. Upon her debut in 2009, the rising star has been featured on several songs including Ragz Originale “No Doubt,” emil “Bakerloo,” Skiifall “Ting Tun Up Part II,” Swindle “BLOW YA TRUMPET,” Venna “Standard,” Juls’ “Wicked,” and DC “Bobby & Rowdy.” In between those two songs was “Los Pollos Hermanos,” a “Breaking Bad” concept song that soon had fans hoping for an upcoming album.
