The rising Houston artist reggie has released “Avalanche” featuring Smino, his 2nd release for 2021. Produced by Teej, Asa DVS, Groove, this song is a reflection and celebration of Reggie’s commitment to the art and perseverance. The following video is directed by ILLIMOWORLD and features Smino and Reggie reminiscing about summer memories while surrounded by family members and friends:
Reggie said in a press release, “Smino’s my cousin who’s really my brother.” Regarding the upcoming collaboration. Back in 2019, we went to a music festival and instantly clicked and made this song in only 2 hours. Honestly, he is probably the only person who can get me to rap, so it is always great working with him. There’s no doubt that we have a lot in common. So in the verse, we’re on different pages, but we’re telling the same story and we run into one another.
“Avalanche” follows reggie’s previous albums, including “I Don’t Wanna Feel No More,” “Southside Fade” and “Ain’t Gon Stop Me”. Which appeared earlier this year and was produced by Monte Booker and Kenny Beats.
Besides his recent collaboration with Syd, Smino also appeared on Yebba’s debut album Dawn and appeared on Syd’s “Right Track” song. The rapper also worked with Saba during Black History Month on the soundtrack for Judas and the Black Messiah in the song “Plead The 45.” He also co-wrote UNLOCKED 1.5 with Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats.
